Uh…no. “Tankies” are often correct & are much less likely to be have uhh fascistic tendencies.

This could just be a difference in sites since I rarely use twitter, but in my experience tankie is less used for basic stuff like supporting Cuba and more about people who glorify authoritarianism and the militaries of authoritarian “leftist” countries and excuse/deny atrocities, who tend to sympathize with fascists a lot more than most leftists, so learning that it’s basically a generalizing insult for ‘leftist statists’ some places is kind of interesting
