none of you even wanna talk about the history of gay bars, or the actual reasons why alcohol + gay spaces are so linked (beyond demonizing addiction and drinking, and acting like gay BARS make themselves inaccessible to minors by serving alcohol), or even why, historically, casual sex was the only way lgbt people could express that side of themselves (bc long term relationships were very hard) + how gay sex has been something that can get you killed for centuries

if you cannot discuss this stuff without being homophobic and contributing to homophobia, shut up and start a book club or something
