Things I appreciated from the Steven Universe Podcast today:

1) Crewniverse had a lot of back and forth to make sure that Steven and Bismuth’s relationship would be better from now on, and that all the other characters would accept Bismuth being around, too.

2) Pearl didn’t take on a leadership role after Rose left because she was a hot mess, and still in a bit of denial, thinking Rose was “trapped” inside a baby. Garnet had already accepted their new reality going forward.

3) Crew confirmed that it was “hard” to get the wedding episode made because of push-back from CN. Lamar stated that it took some time to get approval so they could “show what they wanted to show” without “edits”, and that a lot of the show built up to this moment. To this I say: Thank you crewniverse! Hopefully the good ratings and merch sales will show CN that they shouldn’t be weary of this sort of content in the future!

4) The crew found it very satisfying to drop a barn on Blue Diamond’s head.  They complimented Lapis on being able to overcome her sadness, and her other issues, and stand up to Blue. They also wanted to use “stronger words” for her “I’ve felt worse” line, but it’s a kid show. LOL

5) Lamar said “sometimes that’s just how it goes down” when the host mentioned Lapis and Peridot’s reunion being sweet, but cut short, and that they would have to make up later. (Hopefully this suggests we’re getting some scenes or episodes about it later!)
