thank all of you SOOOOOO much for all the support i’ve gotten while i’ve been making this. i started drawing the pages on january 11th – 12 weeks ago!!! and my life has been a whole rollercoaster of moments since then. without this contest i never would’ve improved on my art– or done much of any art at all, nor would I have known my worth. Thank you sooo much to the Hiveswap team for presenting this opportunity, because it really elevated my life. It gave me so much more than I ever would have expected and made me see my potential for the future and my worth. For a really long time I always felt like I was in a never-ending tunnel with the light fading away as I approached it, or on mountain that I’ll never hope to climb or descend from. I’m still in that tunnel, but now I know that there is a light at the end, and I’m beginning to come to terms with that light. I’ve thought about giving up numerous times but I knew I owed something to you guys, Hiveswap, and myself. I wanted to prove my worth. For those of you that maybe made nice comments on some of the pages while I was making them, you really made those days for me, so thank you so much.

Most of the couples in the au follow the canon ending, that is to say:
Rose and Kanaya are married and happy! They live together in the Carapacian Kingdom, where they rule as both Queens and Goddesses. Rose enjoys her role of guidance, while Kanaya goes regularly to the Troll Kingdom to see how everything is going with the Mother Grub and the eggs (and to visit her friends too, of course.)
Karkat and Dave live together in the Troll Kingdom, Karkat filling an important leaderly role for the trolls. He fucking loves his job and is really enjoying those new responsibilities in building up a new civilisation. The life there is animated and loud, making Dave feel plenty at ease and leaving him all the time in the world to explore his multiple interests.
Roxy, Callie, and Jane live all together in the Carapacian kingdom. They don’t concern themselves too much with the ruling part of it, Roxy spending a lot of time in the lab she shared with Jade before or just having fun around earth c with her girlfriends. Jane goes regularly to the human kingdom, as she is one of the main deities there and continues working on Crockercorp, which she is quite passionate about.
The thing I hate upmost abt like that kinda crowd that just yells and expects confidence to get them through an argument is that they just demean instead of debunk. Like
“hey guys I think the social climate against minorities is upsetting and here’s some ways you can help make a more inclusive space for the next generation”

It’s like the argument equivalent of pointing in the opposite direction and going “LOOK OVER THERE!” and then running away.
lmao im always in this dilemma where i dont want to say the phrase “dude chill out
its just a cartoon” because that would sound like im underestimating the importance of what animated narratives mean to people or it’d sound like i’d be saying that family content shouldnt be taken seriously
but at the same time, everytime i see ppl getting really mad about cartoons on an unhealthy life-consuming level i just have to say it. “dude chill out its just a cartoon”
