abusive parents will tell you that hitting,
manipulating and controlling children doesn’t traumatize them and then in the
same breath shame their children for showing trauma symptoms
One of the disadvantages of being a socialist/communist is in how you really have to explain everything in pretty great detail. Like anti communists can just spew the wildest of propaganda with no sources or explanation and it’ll be accepted as common sense because all the society surrounding them encourages that thinking.
Like if someone says “I have money, I cant be oppressed, fuck you” not only do you have to explain that, like, other people exist whose situations will not align with theirs, but also that individual circumstances aren’t great indicators for the effectiveness of a system and society instead works on a class basis. And that even though you might be making good money, unless you own that company you’re not irreppacable and the company couldn’t give two shots about whether your banking in cash or dead on the streets in two months time.
We’re constantly debating on a liberal home turf, where it’s much easier to look around at the conclusion society puts forward than to actually look honestly at society.
“Whataboutism” in reference to communists is funny because whenever someone even slightly criticizes capitalism they’re met with “what about [x]”, and what’s more funny is that time and time again the countries mentioned are suffering as a result of economic imperialism and war waged by wealthy CAPITALIST countries for profit. INCHERESTÏNG!!
“Solving” pollution under capitalism is essentially pushing production somewhere else after environmental regulations are implemented, regulations which do not stop pollution in the first place.
Globalization under capitalism has opened up new doors for wealthy corporations and governments alike to create their own little bubble that everyone with an individualistic mindset views as the whole world; what they see must be a universal experience because capitalism is human nature.
Thus comes the arguments that the burden of pollution should not rest on the United States, when in reality it is the 2nd biggest polluter.
Capitalist individualism says these are individual shortcomings people must resolve themselves, rather than challenging the system at hand. Companies who use slave labor and pollute extensively sell “green” products on Earth Day. Their damage is not even hidden it’s just brushed aside as necessary.
Ultimately capitalism sees climate change as a necessary evil. No “eco capitalist” can claim otherwise. Half the world could be dead and Exxon would keep spreading operations. We are already seeing more people die and go hungry from climate change. Capitalist “solutions” do not even provide the bare minimum. Even if we were to somehow ditch greenhouse gasses entirely right now, it would take decades to resolve.
Climate change is a long term problem which cannot be met with short term solutions. And socialists cannot claim socialism automatically solves climate change, we must make an effort towards sustainability.
Anti-SJWs basically come in two flavors “lol kek u mad” and “alas this vexed correctness of thine politics doth trouble me in every hour verily I shall draw my blade of reason and stand firm against these blackguards”
SJWs come in one flavor, however:
“I’m offended, I’m HURT, and it’s YOUR FAULT, you MONSTERS!!!!!”
